The spring is situated close to ancient farming settlements and the chapel of St. Gothian which is now buried in sand dunes. St. Gothians’ Spring is tucked away under a bank brimming with elder and blackthorn. To access the spring, you need to bend under a canopy of brambles to follow the clear gentle stream to its source. The spring leads to a pool which was blanketed with cross-shaped watercress flowers when this essence was made. The influence of the deva of the well as an image of youthfulness and renewal was deeply felt during the making of this essence.
