St Keyne | Travel-Well
St. Keyne had a life of travelling, preaching, and building churches. She was the daughter of Brychan a ruler from Brecon in South East Wales and with her sisters and brothers came to Cornwall to spread their Christian beliefs. St. Keyne’s well and its sacred waters are divided by a road where on one side the clear flowing spring issues from the earth, and on the other lies the well building itself. It originally had an ancient oak symbolising wisdom, elm – teaching, ash - protection and willow - hope and belonging, growing beside it.
Focus: Although travelling from place-to-place St. Keyne stood by her beliefs and taught, gave hope and a sense of belonging to those around her. This essence concentrates on holding on to your core self during times of division and change. Being aware of your strength and your ability to have, and to be able to share, a sense of hope. Coming out of the darkness into the light.
